Unfortunately we’re going to have to temporarily put our Prince Harry and Meghan Markle engagement excitement on hold, as we have some pretty sinister news to deal with as well.
Harvey Weinstein, who has been occupying the headlines for nearly two months now, has just had another allegation made against him. And it’s pretty serious, as he has been accused of violating sex trafficking laws.
The allegation was made by aspiring actor Kadian Noble (pictured), who has filed a lawsuit claiming that she was sexually assaulted by Harvey Weinstein at the Cannes Film Festival in 2004. She claims that he groped her, and then allegedly forced her to perform sexual acts on him.
According to reports, the alleged assault came after the producer groomed her back in London after promising to cast her in a film.
But that’s not all, as the lawsuit also involves his former production company The Weinstein Company (he was fired back in October when the sexual assault allegations first started) as well as his brother, Bob.
“Kadian has suffered severe injuries and emotional distress, pain and suffering, mental anguish, inconvenience, loss of capacity for the enjoyment of life, inability to lead a normal life, shame and humiliation,” wrote lawyer Stuart Mermelstein in the lawsuit.
As always, Harvey Weinstein’s reps maintain that all sexual acts were consensual…
“Mr Weinstein denies allegations of non-consensual sex,” his representative said.
“Mr Weinstein has further confirmed that there were never any acts of retaliation against any women for refusing his advances.”
Let’s wait and see how this unfolds…
