Avril Lavigne has decided to defend her estranged husband, Chad Kroeger, and the rest of his band following the jab taken by Mark Zuckerberg. The CEO of Facebook uploaded a video on YouTube three days ago in which he poked fun at the band.
In the video, Zuckerberg promotes his new home assistant Jarvis. While showcasing the various features of the AI assistant, Mark asks it to play some good Nickelback songs. The assistant replies by saying “I’m sorry, Mark. I’m afraid I can’t do that. There are no good Nickelback songs.”
Mark then proceeds to say that his request was actually a test and asks Jarvis to play some songs that Zuckerberg’s whole family likes.
Famous singer Avril Lavigne saw the video recently and decided to defend her ex. She posted a message on Twitter in which she wrote the following.
“Dear Mark, many people use your products — some people love them and some people don’t. Either way, you’re allowed your musical opinion however, your jab at Nickelback is in poor taste. When you have a voice like yours, you may want to consider being more responsible with promoting bullying, especially given what’s going on in the world today.” Mark has yet to respond.
Lavigne and the lead singer of Nickelback, Chad Kroeger, got married in 2013. They separated two years later, but remained friendly with one another. Despite the famous band selling more than 50 million copies worldwide, they’re still working on a new album, which is expected to get released in 2017.
