Chrissy Teigen criticised for posting ballet video on social media

Every famous face gets their fair share of online criticism – it more or less comes with the territory – but we’ve noticed that Chrissy Teigen seems to get a lot more of it than most other celebs. And we really don’t know why!

Over the weekend, John Legend’s gorgeous wife posted a video of herself showing off some ballet moves in a pair of pointe shoes, while also expressing her love and appreciation of the dance.

“I have been in love with watching ballet since I was young,” she wrote.

“I was given shoes from a performance John planned for me a few years ago. Tonight, I tried them on. IT IS HARD. Shout out to the ballerinas I love, and have loved, so so much.

“My feet. Are. So weak. God I love real ballerinas,” she added.

Chrissy didn’t see the harm in trying on ballet shoes and living out her ballerina fantasy. But other people did…

“If you don’t know don do it you can hurt yourself badly,” wrote @lemonique82 on Instagram.

“That’s not safe!!” @_olivia_garrison_ added.  “She could’ve broke one or both of her ankles.”

“As an actual ballerina this is painful to watch but ur not actually that bad,” tweeted @arcanefleur.

“Also it’s dangerous to play around with pointes when ur not trained, specially without elastic & ribbon, be careful!”

We appreciate that a lot of people were mainly concerned about Chrissy’s safety, so these aren’t the most troll-like comments she has ever received.

But keen to get the last word, as always, and silence the naysayers, Chrissy Teigen retorted in the brilliant way we have come to expect from her…

“I get it. I could have broken an ankle. You can stop telling me,” she tweeted.

“If only you knew the other 1000 bone-breaking things I attempt daily.”

Well said, Chrissy!
