Well this is unexpected…
Despite saying that he would “rather slash his wrists” than star in another James Bond film, Daniel Craig is reportedly on board to play 007 for the fifth time.
Talk about a complete 180!
“I’d rather break this glass and slash my wrists,” he previously said when asked if he would do another James Bond film.
“No, not at the moment. Not at all. That’s fine. I’m over it at the moment. We’re done. All I want to do is move on.”
He then added that if he did agree to a fifth movie, it would only be for the gargantuan paycheque, which is rumoured to be a staggering $150 million!
But in other news, Christopher Nolan is set to replace Sam Mendes as director, while Adele is rumoured to be on board to write and perform the official theme song for the as yet unnamed James Bond movie, which is pretty exciting stuff.
Could it land her another Oscar? We’re certainly not ruling it out…
“Craig and Adele together are the winning team, the ultimate choice, the money spinners,” a source told The Mirror.
“It’s taken time but Daniel has come round and the strong consensus in the Bond offices is that Mr Craig is 007 again.
“As for Adele, she’s more of an unknown quantity but loved being part of Bond, so the signs are positive.”
So much for the bets we made on who the new James Bond would be…
Are you pleased to see Daniel Craig return as the world famous spy, or should he step down and give someone else a chance?
