After his recent trip to Liberia, the famous singer decided to change the lives of a group of homeless boys. He did this in collaboration with the British charity organization Comic Relief.
Ed decided to help out when he met a young boy named JD, who was living a very challenging life on the streets of Monrovio, surviving on just a cup of water and a piece of bread every day. After talking with JD, Sheeran became worried about leaving him and his friends in the slum.
“Once we’re done here, we’re going to pack up the camera and these guys are going to be sleeping in a canoe with a lot of dangerous people about. Really does not feel right leaving at all. I mean, the only thing you can do is help them, which we should. My natural instinct is to just put them in a car and just take them and just put them in a hotel until we can get them sorted,” said the famous singer.
However, Ed didn’t take them to a hotel. Instead, he put JD and five of his friends in a house with adult supervision. The charity organization Comic Relief has confirmed that Sheeran paid for this house and that the kids are now safe.
