Emma Watson defends topless Vanity Fair shoot: “It’s about freedom!”

Things aren’t looking too good for Emma Watson at the moment.

Despite currently being on the Beauty and the Beast promo trail, her breasts are all anyone can talk about.

And that’s largely due to her latest Vanity Fair cover shoot, which featured one very controversial topless picture by Tim Walker.

So why was the picture so controversial? Many people believed that proud feminist Emma Watson went against everything feminism stands for by posing topless. But Emma Watson isn’t so sure…

“It just always reveals to me how many misconceptions and what a misunderstanding there is about what feminism is,” she said while defending herself and the picture.

“Feminism is about giving women choice. Feminism is not a stick with which to beat other women with. It’s about freedom, it’s about liberation, it’s about equality.

“I really don’t know what my tits have to do with it. It’s very confusing. I’m confused. Most people are confused. No, I’m just always just quietly stunned.”

We do see where Emma is coming from, but we also can’t blame the thousands of social media users who think she isn’t helping the feminism cause.

Where do you guys stand? It’s a tricky one, isn’t it…
