There are so many things wrong with Madame Tussauds’ latest waxwork of Beyoncé, that even we don’t know where to start…
It’s clear to anyone with even semi-functioning eyes that the waxwork bears little to no resemblance to the Lemonade singer, and instead, shares much more likeness to celebs such as Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears, Kate Gosselin and Shakira.
And now comes the other problem. The waxwork shouldn’t even look like the aforementioned celebrities because they are white. And Beyoncé, obviously, is not.
“It’s a good thing you’re not talking about Beyoncé cause this white woman is definitely not her,” one disgruntled Beyoncé fan wrote on social media. A view which was echoed by the majority of people who saw the waxwork.
So what did Madame Tussauds have to say about “whitewashing” Beyoncé?
“Our talented team of sculptors takes every effort to ensure we accurately colour match all of our wax figures to the celebrity being depicted,” a spokesperson for Madame Tussauds told TMZ.
“Lighting within the attraction combined with flash photography may distort and misrepresent the colour of our wax figures.”
So, in other words, it’s a combination of poor lighting and flash photography…
We don’t think the Bey-hive are buying it; are you?
