Georgina Chapman leaves husband Harvey Weinstein amid sexual assault allegations

Marchesa fashion designer Georgina Chapman will be leaving husband Harvey Weinstein, following the allegations of sexual assault and indecent behaviour from a number of different Hollywood actresses.

Ashley Judd, Gwyneth Paltrow and Angelina Jolie are just a few of the big names who have spoken out against him.

“My heart breaks for all the women who have suffered tremendous pain because of these unforgivable actions. I have chosen to leave my husband,” Georgina told People magazine.

“Caring for my young children is my first priority and I ask the media for privacy at this time.”

Harvey Weinstein, 65, and Georgina Chapman, 41, got married in 2007 and have two children together — India Pearl, 7, and Dashiell Max Robert, 4.

Georgina’s statement goes against what the producer initially said following the allegations, where he told the media that his wife would be standing by him…

“She stands 100 percent behind me. Georgina and I have talked about this at length,” he initially told The New York Post.

At the time, Harvey Weinstein also added that his wife was helping him become “a better human” and to “apologise to people for my bad behaviour, to say I’m sorry, and to absolutely mean it.”
