Despite her mother reassuring everybody that Carrie was in stable condition just a few days ago, it was now revealed that the legendary actress suffered a massive heart attack this morning and died as a result of it.
Simon Halls, the spokesman for the Fisher family released a statement on behalf of Billie Lourd, Carrie’s daughter. “It is with a very deep sadness that Billie Lourd confirms that her beloved mother Carrie Fisher passed away at 8:55 this morning. She was loved by the world and she will be missed profoundly. Our entire family thanks you for your thoughts and prayers.”
Carrie’s mother, Debbie Reynolds, also addressed the death of her daughter in a Facebook post. “Thank you to everyone who has embraced the gifts and talents of my beloved and amazing daughter. I am grateful for your thoughts and prayers that are now guiding her to her next stop” she wrote.
The famous actress previously suffered a heart attack on December 23 while on a plane that was flying from London to LAX. Passengers and the flight crew were responsible for treating her on the plane, and the paramedics took over once she landed at LAX. She was immediately rushed to the UCLA Medical Center upon landing.
Carrie Fisher is best known for playing Princess Leia in the Star Wars movies. Variety confirmed that the actress finished her work on the eighth Star Wars film back in July of this year, which means that fans will have a chance to see her as Princess Leia one last time.
