“I chose to pose like that” – Plus size model Ashley Graham defends her Vogue cover

Plus size model Ashley Graham already has a British Vogue cover under her belt, so we were delighted when we found out she would be gracing yet another issue of the fashion bible.

The 29-year-old beauty joins Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner, Liu Wen, Imaan Hammam, Adwa Aboah and Vittoria Ceretti on the Vogue US March cover, wearing a black Prada turtleneck and high waisted underwear.

Like many people though, we were somewhat confused by her pose on the cover – was it strategic? Was the magazine trying to cover her up by making her place her hand on her leg? Does Gigi Hadid’s arm look distorted as a result of Photoshopping Ashley Graham’s body? So many questions!

As you can imagine, fans took to Twitter to express their disappointment in the magazine for allegedly attempting to make the plus size model look slimmer.

However Ashley Graham herself has decided to clear everything up, and if we are to believe what she is telling us, we have nothing to worry about and things are being blown  way out of proportion…

“I chose to pose like that,” she said on her Instagram account. “No one told me to do anything.”

Hmmm… we will give the magazine the benefit of the doubt on this occasion.

Where do you guys stand?

The Vogue US March issue hits newsstands on February 21.
