“I was really tan when we shot the images” – Kim Kardashian responds to “blackface” controversy

Last week we told you that Kim Kardashian faced quite a bit of backlash for supposedly using “blackface” in one of the promo pictures for her upcoming make-up line, KKW Beauty.

Well now Kim has responded to the controversy, stating that she was just “really tan” in the offending picture…

“I would obviously never want to offend anyone,” she told The New York Times.

“I used an amazing photographer and a team of people. I was really tan when we shot the images, and it might be that the contrast was off. But I showed the image to many people, to many in the business. No one brought that to our attention. No one mentioned it.

“Of course, I have the utmost respect for why people might feel the way they did. But we made the necessary changes to that photo and the rest of the photos.

“We saw the problem, and we adapted and changed right away. Definitely I have learned from it.”

We don’t think this is going to affect the sales of her cream contour kit – the first item to be released from her make-up collection. In fact, it’s expected to make £10 Million in the first ten minutes.

Let’s just all take a moment to wrap our heads around that…
