Chrissy Teigen is just one of many famous faces who has opened up about her struggles with postpartum depression.
And now we can add First Daughter Ivanka Trump to that list of women, as she opened up about having some form of postpartum depression following the birth of each of her three children.
Ivanka and husband Jared Kushner have three children together – Arabella, six, Joseph, three, and Theodore, one.
“With each of my three children, I had some level of postpartum depression,” she said in an interview with CNN.
“It was a very challenging, emotional time for me because I felt like I was not living up to my potential as a parent or as an entrepreneur and executive.
“I had had such easy pregnancies that in some way, the juxtaposition hit me even harder.”
Ivanka Trump mentioned in the interview that she was previously unwilling to talk about her struggles, but felt the time was finally right because it affects so many women.
(FYI, it affects one in ten women, which is quite a mind-blowing statistic!)
“It’s incredibly important,” Ivanka added.
“Look, I consider myself a very hard-charging person. I am ambitious. I’m passionate. I’m driven, but this is something that affects parents all over the country.”
We’re glad that she finally opened up about it – perhaps her honesty is just part of the reason why hundreds of women are flocking to the plastic surgeon to look like her…
