Chrissy Teigen has been extremely open about her battle with postnatal depression since giving birth to her and John Legend’s adorable baby girl, Luna, who incidentally turns one tomorrow! (Aww!)
It now looks like her darkest days are behind her, but Chrissy Teigen is still raising awareness for the condition and giving her advice to all those in a similar situation.
If Chrissy can get through it, so can anyone!
“Just know that there’s a light on the other side,” she told Refinery29.
“When I was in the midst of everything, I could never imagine myself on the other side of it. Now, I’m able to look at September, October, November, December, and shake my head at how dark and crazy of a period it was.
“Unfortunately, you can only really do that when you’re out of it. There’s no other way to explain it. And there’s no better feeling than being out of it.
Chrissy continued to say that she isn’t completely over it, as she still has some bad days, but she is in the position to say that there are more good days than bad, which is the most encouraging thing to take away from this.
“Of course, you have your good and bad days. I just had a bad day a couple days ago,” she continued.
“But the bad days do not outweigh the good days anymore. Just when you think it’s really really bad, it’s going to get better. So hopefully, if you’re going through something tough you can find some peace in knowing that.”
Thank you for your wise words, Chrissy Teigen. As well as celebrating Luna’s first birthday tomorrow, it looks like Chrissy has quite an interesting few months ahead of her…
“I’m really starting to feel like myself again. I’m going to try to knock out a bunch of recipes, go on tour with John and Luna, live on this tour bus, and then come back, do a few more recipes, shoot the cookbook, and then have it out for everybody by the beginning of next year.”
We cannot wait!
