Justice for Jennifer Lawrence as hacker faces jail

Looks like there’s finally some justice for Jennifer Lawrence and a whole host of other female celebrities…

The hacker who stole naked pictures and videos of around 30 different celebrities and published them online has finally been sentenced, and will serve nine months in prison.

The hacker, 29-year-old Edward Majerczyk, tricked celebs such as Jennifer Lawrence and Kate Upton into giving him their personal details by impersonating internet service providers and other legitimate companies.

He then used their information to gain access to their private pictures, and leaked them online.

His lawyer, Thomas Needham, blamed “depression” for his actions…

“He was suffering from depression and looked to pornography websites and internet chat rooms in an attempt to fill some of the voids and disappointment he was feeling in his life,” he said.

Last year, he pleaded guilty to one count of unauthorized access to protected computer obtained information, and was forced to pay $5,700 in restitution for counselling for one unnamed celebrity victim.

Let’s hope this is a little bit of justice for Jennifer Lawrence, who once told Vanity Fair that she felt she was the victim of a “sex crime.”
