A judge in Buenos Aires just indicted the famous pop artist for allegedly ordering a beatdown on a photographer in Argentina. Bieber was also accused of making sure all of the photographer’s equipment and money was stolen after he was beaten.
This incident occurred while the pop star was touring in Buenos Aires in 2013. A year after the incident, Justin was ordered to go to Argentina in order to testify in the case. He didn’t show up, which led to an arrest warrant being issued in 2015.
Until the case is resolved, the singer can’t go back to Argentina, because he’ll get arrested. However, it looks like he is working on sorting things out. According to TMZ, his lawyers plan on appealing the indictment, in hopes that the case will get thrown out.
The bad news for Bieber is that he won’t have a chance to visit Argentina, which represents his biggest fan base and the biggest market in South America. Nevertheless, he will soon be visiting the other countries on the continent as part of his Purpose World Tour.
Justin knew that he would not be able to return to Argentina, and has addressed this issue on Twitter, back in May. “Argentinian beliebers I would like nothing more than to bring the #purposetour there but the Argentinian government won’t allow it. So sorry, if things were to change I would love to come but at this time I cannot. For everyone else in South America I look forward to seeing you” he wrote.
A source told TMZ that he believes that “The judge is screwing his own country because Justin could infuse a huge amount of money into the economy.”
