Kevin Spacey axed from Ridley Scott movie weeks before release

Kevin Spacey has already been fired from House of Cards and the Gore Vidal biopic following several sexual assault allegations, so it comes as no surprise to learn that he has been axed from yet another project too.

The actor has officially been fired from Ridley Scott’s new film, All The Money In The World, which is a pretty bold move considering it was due to be released in just a few weeks.

Christopher Plummer – yes, The Sound of Music’s very own Captain Von Trapp – has taken over Kevin Spacey’s role, with re-shoots reportedly happening right this very moment.

Mark Wahlberg and Michelle Williams are said to be involved in the re-shoots with their new co-star, who interestingly was Ridley Scott’s first choice for the role all along.

According to reports, the director was pressured into hiring a bigger name for the J Paul Getty biopic, which is why Kevin Spacey originally got the part over 87-year-old Christopher Plummer.

We love the new casting decision, and can’t wait to see Christopher Plummer in action!
