On October 2, 2016, a few men broke into a private residence in Paris where Kim Kardashian was staying and robbed the reality TV star. The tied her up and gagged her mouth, while Kim was begging the men not to hurt her. The robbers didn’t physically harm the reality TV star, but they did leave the residence with $10 million in jewelry.
Due to this horrifying experience, Kim decided to take a break from the spotlight for three months. Despite initially being very stressed because of the unpleasant situation, she now seems to be doing much better. The French police have currently charged a few individuals for the robbery. Now, Kim’s police statement has been released to the public.
According to the French newspaper Le Journal du Dimanche, this is what Kim told the police in her statement: “I heard a noise at the door, like, footsteps, and I shouted to ask who was there, but no one answered. I called my bodyguard at 2:56 a.m., Then, beyond the sliding doors, I saw two people arrive with the gentleman from reception, and he was tied up. Both men were hooded, one had a ski mask and he had a cap and a jacket with ‘police’ on it. The second man had the same ‘police’ clothes, but did not have any ski mask. It was the one with the ski mask who stayed with me.”
“He had a strong French accent and asked me for my ring [in English]. He looked at what was on the bedside table. It was worth $4 million,” she added. After grabbing the ring, one of the burglars tied Kim up and put “plastic cables and scotch tape” on her hands, then proceeded to tape her mouth and legs. Thankfully, Kim didn’t get hurt.
