Lady Gaga supports Ed Sheeran for quitting Twitter because of bullying: “He deserves all our love and respect”

Lady Gaga, a firm anti-bullying campaigner, has come to Ed Sheeran’s support, after he revealed that he was quitting Twitter for good due to the abuse he was receiving on the social networking platform.

“I’ve actually come off Twitter completely. I can’t read it,” the Shape of You singer said.

“I go on it and there’s nothing but people saying mean things. Twitter’s a platform for that. One comment ruins your day.

“But that’s why I’ve come off it. The head-f*** for me has been trying to work out why people dislike me so much.”

Poor Ed Sheeran! We’re glad Lady Gaga, who runs the Born This Way Foundation to try and combat bullying for good, came to his defence.

She posted a picture of the two of them on Instagram, with the sweetest and most inspirational caption.

“What an incredible talented artist I LOVE ED,” Lady Gaga wrote.

“He deserves all our love and respect like all humans do.

“I wish all people on the internet would be positive and loving and apart of creating an online community that is kind and empowering, not hateful and mean.

“No reason to tear down an artist simply because they are on top. Work harder to be kinder everybody. That should be your first duty to humanity.”

Well said, Lady Gaga. Ed Sheeran fans who are devastated by the news can still follow him on Instagram, so at least that’s something.

Let’s hope that Ed Sheeran is the last person to be driven away from social media because of bullies!
