Madame Tussauds removes and “adjusts” controversial Beyoncé waxwork

Last week we told you that Madame Tussauds was on the receiving end of a lot of backlash after it revealed its latest waxwork figure of Beyoncé.

The waxwork figure was on display at the Madame Tussauds in New York, but it wasn’t long until fans complained that a) it looked nothing like the Lemonade singer, and b) the skin tone was several shades lighter than the real Beyoncé’s.

This sparked a whole new “whitewashing” controversy, but we’re pleased to say that Madame Tussauds has taken the hint, removed the waxwork, and “adjusted” it accordingly…

“We love, respect and enjoy a working relationship with Beyoncé,” a spokesperson for Madame Tussauds told the New York Times.

“We have adjusted the styling and lighting of her figure and she is on display.”

Phew! We must admit that the waxwork is certainly a lot better than the original, although something is still a bit off.

Perhaps Beyoncé is just too perfect to duplicate…
