You’d think that the coveted golden Oscar statues would have their own team of bodyguards, yet somehow, Best Actress winner Frances McDormand managed to have her Academy Award stolen at the after party.
The actress, who won the accolade for her stunning performance in Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, had her Oscar stolen at the Governor’s Ball after-party straight after the Oscars ceremony.
It was, however, later returned to her following an arrest…
“Fran and Oscar are happily reunited and are enjoying an In-N-Out burger together,” a spokesperson for the actress told USA Today.
Los Angeles Police have confirmed that 47-year-old Terry Bryant was arrested for stealing the statue, with bail set at $20,000. He is due to attend court in the future.
We’re glad that Frances McDormand has her award back, to sit alongside the Oscar she won for Fargo over 20 years ago.
We can now all focus on what really matters – her killer acceptance speech which will no doubt go down in history! Watch it below!
