The famous pop star Mariah Carey seriously messed up her New Year’s Eve performance. Despite it being planned to be one of the world’s biggest New Year’s Eve events, it ended disastrous.
When her song Emotions started playing, she told the crowd that “We can’t hear. We didn’t have a check for this song… we’re missing some of these vocals, but it is what it is.” Apparently, she gave up lip syncing and attempted to sing, but only sang a couple of words before declaring that she will let the audience sing the song instead.
Despite her performance not going along as planned, her background dancers carried on their routine as normal. Soon after being faced with numerous technical difficulties, Carey said “We didn’t have a sound check, but it’s New Year’s, baby. It’s OK, guys.” Afterwards, she added “I want a holiday, too, can I not have one? I’m trying to be a good sport here.” Because of these technical difficulties, she soon decided to storm off the stage.
Even though many of her fans were extremely disappointed with her performance, she simply shrugged it off in a tweet, which read “Sh*t happens. Have a happy and healthy new year everybody! Here’s to making more headlines in 2017.”
