This year hasn’t gone off to a good start for Mariah, following her disastrous New Year’s Eve performance in New York’s Time Square. The famous singer faced a lot of backlash for that performance, and she has finally decided to speak on it.
In an audio clip that she posted on her Twitter account, Mariah noted that “I want everyone to know that I came to New Year’s Eve in New York in great spirit and was looking forward to a celebratory moment with the world. It’s a shame that we were put into the hands of a production team with technical issues, who chose to capitalize on circumstances beyond our control.”
She proceeded to say that the production team foiled hear and turned it into an opportunity to humiliate her and all those who were excited to celebrate the New Year with her.
Mariah also noted that she was going to take a break from social media. “Although I am going to fulfil my professional obligations, this is an important time for me to finally take a moment for myself and to deal with my loved ones and to prepare for my upcoming tour in March,” she added.
Mariah also said that she will speak on her side of the story in more detail in the future, but that for now, she is going to refrain from making any further comments.
