Melania Trump’s first official White House portrait released

The First Lady’s first official White House portrait has just been released, three months after her husband Donald Trump was inaugurated.

“I am honoured to serve in the role of First Lady, and look forward to working on behalf of the American people over the coming years,” Melania Trump said in a statement.

Melania Trump might be thrilled with the picture, but not everyone feels the same way. The photograph has been met with very mixed reviews, with many social media users commenting on the obvious over-use of Photoshop.

Some Twitter comments include:

Melania Trump’s official First Lady portrait used up all the Photoshop.

“I’ve never seen a more overdone photoshop job.”

“You sure guurl? #melaniatrump#photoshop#portrait#fail”

“The official portrait of the First Lady looks like an overfiltered Instagram picture. Sweet. #melaniatrump #filteralltheway”

And some other hilarious observations and comparisons:

“Not sure if this is the official portrait of the First Lady or an image of a flight attendant on the first commercial shuttle to Mars.”

“Anyone know why Melania Trump’s portrait was taken in front of the Muppet Babies Window?”

“White House releases first lady Melania Trump’s official portrait and announces a 3 episode guest star role on The Bold and the Beautiful.”

Sure, the official portrait was never going to be a hit with everyone, but let’s not forget that Michelle Obama’s first official portrait was also met with a fair bit of controversy. The former First Lady was posing in a sleeveless dress, which many people regarded as extremely inappropriate.

See, you never can please everyone!
