Meryl Streep wants Oprah to run for President – “Oprah showed what a presidential candidate should talk like”

Meryl Streep doesn’t seem to be a big fan of the current residents of The White House – even commenting that Melania Trump and Ivanka Trump should be doing more to combat sexual misconduct.

“I don’t want to hear about the silence of me,” Meryl Streep previously said.

“I want to hear about the silence of Melania Trump. I want to hear from her. She has so much that’s valuable to say. And so does Ivanka. I want her to speak now.”

The Oscar-winning actress has now gone one step further, by suggesting that Oprah Winfrey should rightfully be the next President of the United States, demonstrated by her extremely moving and powerful speech at the Golden Globes on Sunday night…

“Oprah showed what a presidential candidate should talk like, and to what language and passion and principle they should adhere,” Meryl Streep said.

“To what rhetoric can rouse people… And how important it is for people to feel that and to get that encouragement.

“That’s the voice of the leader. Whether she’s leading us to the candidate that we need, or she herself is a candidate, she sets the bar pretty high on campaign talk.”

And this isn’t the first time Meryl Streep has voiced her love and admiration for Oprah, and her desire for her to run for President…

“She launched a rocket tonight,” she told The Washington Post following the Golden Globes ceremony on Sunday night.

“I want her to run for President. I don’t think she had any intention of declaring. But now she doesn’t have a choice.”
