Met Gala donors “insulted” by “disrespectful” celebs smoking in the bathroom

It may have happened on Monday night, but the Met Gala isn’t old news just yet, as stories are still flooding in. And the latest story is quite a controversial one…

Remember those selfies of a few famous faces – including Bella Hadid and Paris Jackson – smoking in the bathroom at the Met Gala? Well, turns out that not everyone thought they were being cool and cutely rebellious.

In fact, there have been lots of complaints, especially from people who have donated to the Met Gala. They have mentioned that smoking anywhere in the museum, even in the bathrooms, is “disrespectful” and could ruin the artwork that has to be 100% smoke-free.

“As a donor to the Met, I was so insulted to see all these ‘celebrities’ smoking and taking selfies of themselves in the bathroom,” an anonymous donor told Page Six.

“Mostly, it’s disrespectful to the art collection which needs to be kept 100 per cent smoke-free. I would honestly like to see these people fined by the city.”

And it wasn’t just the smoking that peeved people off. Apparently the celebs crowding in the bathrooms to take selfies didn’t go down too well either…

A board member reportedly “stormed right out and complained right away to Anna Wintour’s team,” the source added. “It is so disrespectful to the museum.”

We have a feeling some strict rules are going to be enforced next year – either that, or some of this year’s rebels might find their names struck off the guest list!
