Robin Wright takes over Kevin Spacey lead role in House of Cards

Looks like production of House of Cards is back on, with Robin Wright landing the lead role!

Production of the sixth season of the popular Netflix show was temporarily put on hold due to the Kevin Spacey sexual assault allegations which resulted in him being instantly fired.

Robin Wright will return as Claire Underwood, the wife of Kevin Spacey’s character, Frank Underwood.

“We’re really excited about bringing some closure to the show for fans,” said Ted Sarandos, the Netflix chief content officer.

“We’re excited for the 370 people who make House of Cards and have done the best work of their lives on that show; for the 2,000 people in Baltimore who have come to depend on that show for their jobs.

And so we’re really excited that we were able to come to a good creative conclusion to the show.”

The season will only be eight episodes long though, which is significantly shorter than 13 episodes found in previous seasons.

But we and all other House of Cards fans are pleased that the show will get the conclusion it deserves, and think Robin Wright will do an excellent job.
