It may come as a surprise, but Scarlett Johansson has revealed that she doesn’t believe in monogamy.
Do you think she openly tells her love interests this before getting into a relationship with them? Just a thought…
The actress, who recently announced her divorce from husband Romain Dauriac, opened up to Playboy about her feelings on the “unnatural” state of monogamy.
(Interestingly, this interview was conducted before details of her divorce went public; make of that what you will…)
“I think the idea of marriage is very romantic; it’s a beautiful idea, and the practice of it can be a very beautiful thing,” she said.
“I don’t think it’s natural to be a monogamous person. I might be skewered for that, but I think it’s work. It’s a lot of work.
“The fact that it is such work for so many people – for everyone – the fact of that proves that it is not a natural thing.
“It’s something I have a lot of respect for and have participated in, but I think it definitely goes against some instinct to look beyond.
“Being married is different than not being married and anybody who tells you that it’s the same is lying. It changes things.”
There’s no denying that marriage changes things, and can sometimes be a lot of hard work, but do you agree with what ScarJo is saying?
Are you going to adopt her monogamous lifestyle?
