The Met Gala 2017: The Best Dressed!

Highlights from the “Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garcons: Art of the In-Between” Costume Institute Gala red carpet

We know we weren’t the only ones scratching our heads in confusion when the “Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garcons: Art of the In-Between” avant-garde theme for this year’s Met Gala was announced.

And although a lot of famous faces pulled out all the stops with their outfit choices – yes Rihanna, we’re looking at you – many others just rolled with it and used it as another excuse to get dressed to the nines. Not that we’re complaining – we really enjoyed ogling them on the red carpet, as we’re sure you did too!

Speaking of Rihanna, we can’t ignore how spectacular the Bajan singer on the Met Gala red carpet last night, wearing a sensational Comme des Garçons dress from the autumn/winter 2016 collection. The dress is so magnificent that it is actually on display as part of the Met’s new exhibit, which should put things in to perspective; and as a result, also put everyone else’s outfits in the shade.

Despite Rihanna running home with the “best interpretation of the theme” prize, there are a lot of other attendees whose outfits and appearances we can’t ignore.

Selena Gomez and The Weeknd walked their first ever red carpet together as a couple, and couldn’t keep their eyes or hands off each other throughout the course of the evening. Aw, young love!

And not one to be overshadowed, The Weeknd’s ex, Bella Hadid, did her best to show  her former lover what he’s missing by showing up in a sheer bodysuit. We think he received the message loud and clear!

Points for effort also go to Katy Perry (just wait ’til you see her outfit!) and Cara Delevingne, who bleached her shaved head especially for the occasion.

Take a look at our best dressed celebs from this year’s Met Gala.
