Last year, Fox released the tenth season of the hit TV series “The X-Files.” It aired fourteen years after the ninth season concluded. Despite the fact that it consisted of just six episodes, fans from all over the world were extremely happy to see one of the best TV shows of all time back on.
After the release of the tenth season the creator of the show, Chris Carter, noted that he would love to do another season. The stars of the series, Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny, also said that they’re open to the idea of doing more episodes. Now, after many rumors, it was finally confirmed that “The X-Files” will be returning with another season.
The president of Fox Broadcasting Company, David Madden, said in a statement: “Iconic characters, rich storytelling, bold creators – these are the hallmarks of great TV shows. And they are some of the reasons why ‘The X-Files’ has had such a profound impact on millions of fans worldwide. Chris’ creativity, along with the brilliant work of David and Gillian, continue to propel this pop culture phenomenon, and we can’t wait to see what fresh mysteries Mulder and Scully uncover in this next chapter of ‘The X-Files’”
Unlike the tenth season, this one will consist of 10 episodes. The 11th season of “The X-Files” is expected to premiere during the 2017-18 television season. Production is set to begin this summer.
