California Creates Travel Ban for its Students after Protesting Trump’s Travel Ban

Speaking of liberal hypocrisy, California just passed a law back in January which interdicts students attending public universities  from traveling to anti LGBT states. Basically, what we’re dealing with here is an ideologically motivated travel ban by any metrics.

Instituting a travel ban for US citizens and then criticizing President Trump’s travel ban against dangerous foreign states is the definition of liberal hypocrisy.

The  Los Angeles Times reported on Tuesday that the new California law prohibits state funded travel to anti LGBT states, i.e. those listed by California’s attorney general as discriminating against the respective community: North Carolina, Tennessee, Kansas and Mississippi.

For example, Kansas is on that list because the state allows campus religious groups to deny LGBT faculty/students from membership. Tennessee is persona non grata for allowing counselors and therapists with sincerely held principles to deny assistance to LGBT clients and so on and so forth. It’s all about freedom of association based on faith/religious beliefs to put  it very simple.

California’s DoJ says:

The travel prohibition applies to state agencies, departments, boards, authorities, and commissions, including an agency, department, board, authority, or commission of the University of California, the Board of Regents of the University of California, and the California State University.

According to the  Daily Caller, the travel-ban already affected dozens of students who were intending to travel to the respective (banned) states for academic activities:

The new law’s effects were felt by students at UC Davis, who planned on attending an undergraduate research conference in Tennessee. The new law prevented the students from attending because UC Davis was going to pay for them to go.

More than 100 Californians were chosen to be a part of the Council on Undergraduate Research Conference at the University of Memphis in April, but those who attend public universities will not receive funding to go.

California’s travel ban is the brain child of its attorney general Xavier Becerra who recently condemned Donald Trump’s travel ban on 7 countries strongly associated with international terrorism:

To quote Xavier via The Sacramento Bee:

It discriminates against human beings based on their faith. It denies entry to those with proven and legitimate fears of death and persecution. It tramples on centuries of American tradition. Justice in America doesn’t live or die on the stroke of one man’s pen regardless of how high his office.

The travel ban imposed by President Trump’s administration is all about keeping dangerous/unvetted immigrants and refugees out of America for protecting its citizens and keeping them safe.

California’s travel ban is essentially economic warfare against US citizens, i.e. to keep as much funds as possible away from going into states that do not embrace its LGBT agenda.
