Next Wednesday will be a very busy day if you’re a DC resident, as the city will hold a massive terror drill simulating a coordinated terrorist attack. But that’s not all, keep reading as Wednesday seems to be the most important day of the year, especially if you’re into conspiracies.
As I already told you earlier, April 26th is also D-Day for the Operation Gotham Shield, a huge exercise involving Homeland Security, FEMA and numerous other military and law enforcement agencies. Operation Gotham Shield simulates a nuke strike over Manhattan.
But wait, there’s more! On Wednesday, the Senate will be briefed by the President and his top 4 military and defense officials with regard to the hairy situation in North Korea during a rather unusual event. On the same day, Wednesday 26th, the US aircraft carrier Carl Vinson will finally arrive in the Korean Peninsula.
And yes, the day after tomorrow, first responders and law enforcement officials will participate in a full scale exercise in Washington DC, an exercise that simulates a complex/coordinated terrorist attack on the country’s capital.
The aim of the drill is to help protect DC residents by preparing them for a terrorist attack involving multiple targets/locations and more than one cell/team of terrorists.
Hundreds of police officers together with fire and EMS personnel will be involved in the exercise, not to mention volunteer actors. To quote Homeland Security and Public Safety’s managing director Scott Bogs:
“Law enforcement officials practice and exercise their skills on their own regularly because that’s the best way to ensure we are always ready to respond quickly and professionally. On April 26, we’ll go one step further and stage a very realistic emergency event involving multiple sites and actors posing as the casualties. However, there is no reason for residents to be alarmed because the exercise will occur in a controlled environment.”
What are the odds for such incredibly important events to take place all in the same day? Speaking of drills, the last few times they held terror drills the bill came due big time.
