Few Players Take a Knee on Sunday as NFL Protest Dies Due to Public Outrage

nfl protest dies

To make a long story short, here it comes: 180 NFL players protested last week by kneeling (or doing whatever) during the national anthem, but only 11 did the same this week during the 1st set of games on Sunday. What does that mean?

‬‪The left picked a fight and lost. Again.‬ According to ESPN’s Darren Rovell via Twitter:

Following the massive public outrage aimed at NFL players who chose to kneel in protest while the national anthem was played, doubled down by President Trump slamming the National Football League for allowing the players to disobey their own rule book and take a knee during the national anthem, NFL’s favorability ratings dropped, sponsors started pulling their ads and viewership tanked.

Here’s the POTUS on Twitter:

It seems pretty obvious that the war between the social justice warriors in the National Football League and the free market is nearing an end, with the POTUS backed up by the fans clearly emerging as victors. And to the victors belong the spoils.

It’s progress I suppose, but too little too late for many Americans. They’ve already shown their true colors. They brought politics where politics didn’t belong and in doing so they disrespected their country and insulted their very large fan-base of patriotic customers. We know how they feel about “flyover America”, that will never change. Any change in NFL’s behavior at this point is only for self preservation because they realize, no matter what they think of their public, their gravy train can’t continue without us.
