House Freedom Caucus Republican Jim Jordan and Chair Mark Meadows are demanding from Trump’s Attorney General Jeff Sessions to resign over DOJ’s leaks to the press. The call for Sessions to resign comes in the aftermath of the revelation via the New York Times over the weekend, which claims that the FBI’s investigation into Russia collusion conspiracy theory (there are no facts after a year of “probing”) begun over Papadopolous’ drunken conversations, as opposed to the official story that the whole thing was started by the discredited and fake Steele dossier.
The NYT report relied on 4 intelligence officials “familiar with the matter” and obviously anonymous. House Freedom Caucus Republicans Meadows and Jordan wrote in an Op-Ed for for The Washington Examiner:
“The alarming number of FBI agents and DOJ officials sharing information with reporters is in clear violation of the investigative standards that Americans expect and should demand. How many FBI agents and DOJ officials have illegally discussed aspects of an ongoing investigation with reporters? When will it stop?”
In final analysis, Attorney General Jeff Sessions is ultimately responsible for such leaks, or at least that’s what Meadows and Jordan seem to believe, hence if the AG can’t put an end to leaking, he must resign or to be replaced by President Trump.
“Attorney General Jeff Sessions has recused himself from the Russia investigation, but it would appear he has no control at all of the premier law enforcement agency in the world. If Attorney General Sessions can’t address this issue immediately, then we have one final question needing an answer: when is it time for a new Attorney General? Sadly, it seems the answer is now.”
Now, if you ask me, even if Mueller isn’t working for Trump after all, if Sessions had closed down the Russia investigation, much of the criminality that is now coming out wouldn’t have been exposed. It’s because of the Mueller investigation that we know so much of the crime that has been committed. And it is under Sessions that the pedophiles are being rounded up. That’s never happened before. They’ve run rampant in this country and around the world. So, Sessions isn’t the do nothing that people make him out to be. However, AG Sessions should be able to walk and chew gum at the same time, i.e. there is no reason he could not be prosecuting the cabal at the same time as these other investigations are going on.
