INTEL Chair: FBI Needs To Explain Recorded Calls, Leaks

According to the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee on Tuesday, the most ardent issue regarding Gen. Michael Flynn forced resignation from his national security adviser position is why the US intelligence agencies eavesdropped on his conversations with the Russian ambassador and later leaked the intel about those conversations to the mainstream media.

Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) is the Chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, which is currently reviewing the alleged Russian activities to meddle/to influence the presidential election. He was quoted as saying:

“I expect for the FBI to tell me what is going on, and they better have a good answer. The big problem I see here is that you have an American citizen who had his phone calls recorded.”

General Mike Flynn was basically forced to resign on Monday night, just a couple of days after WaPo reported that they’re in possession of Flynn’s recorded phone calls with the Russian ambassador to the United States taken before Donald Trump was sworn in.

The recordings were made by US intelligence officials (who else?) and they apparently contradicted Flynn’s claims that he hadn’t discussed about lessening the US sanctions against Russia with the ambassador.

When it comes to leaking classified information, publicly disclosing the contents of signals intelligence of SIGINT is a very serious felony.

It’s very clear that somebody in the United States government leaked Flynn’s intercepted communications to the press, thus violating criminal law and the same is true for the respective journalists which may be prosecuted under federal law for publishing the respective documents.

General Flynn and Donald Trump have many enemies throughout the deep state. Trump was warned by Democratic Senator Chuck Schumer just a few weeks ago for being really dumb to criticize the CIA et al, because let me quote:

“they have six ways from Sunday at getting back at you.”

The swamp is deep and darker’n a black steer’s tookus on a moonless prairie night. And it must be drained at any costs.

It’s also very strange to see the same people who demonized Chelsea Manning, Edward Snowden, Tom Drake and other leaksters from the Obama era to heap praise to those who were using the exact same methods for bringing down General Flynn.

And it definitely looks like Flynn’s ouster was made possible via a perfectly orchestrated disinformation campaign generated by former/current intel officers still loyal to former president.

Also notice how the intelligence community leaked Flynns phone calls, yet there are zero leaks on Hillary Clinton and Benghazi. Flynn said:

“It wasn’t about sanctions. It was about the 35 guys who were thrown out. So that’s what it turned out to be. It was basically, ‘Look, I know this happened. We’ll review everything.’ I never said anything such as, ‘We’re going to review sanctions,’ or anything like that.”
