Manafort Indicted by Mueller on Business Dealings, not Trump Campaign Surrenders to FBI

Paul Manafort and Rick Gates were indicted by Robert Mueller on Monday on 75 million dollars money-laundering charges and they’ve surrendered to face the respective charges, which include conspiracy to launder money and conspiracy against the United States.

Mind you, Mueller’s probe was about the Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election, yet the charges against Paul Manafort, who was for a short time part of Donald Trump’s campaign prior to him getting fired have nothing to do with the Russia conspiracy theory. Manafort is also accused of being an unregistered foreign agent, misleading FARA statements and on 7 counts of failure to file reports of foreign banks financial accounts.

Both Manafort and Gates are on home confinement and they pleaded not guilty. Paul Manafort is free on a ten million dollars bond while Rick Gates agreed to a five million dollars bond.

The indictments describe how both Gates and Manafort controlled 75 million dollars in slush funds that were being used to buy high-end custom-made suits (!!), antiques, rugs, cars and things of that nature.

How does any of this have anything to do with the 2016 election, Russia or President Trump?

Bottom line, Mueller probe’s charges against Manafort and Gates are related to their private businesses, not campaign activities.
Here’s President Trump reaction at the “breaking news”:

Sorry, but this is years ago, before Paul Manafort was part of the Trump campaign. But why aren’t Crooked Hillary & the Dems the focus?????

So, after millions of dollars spent by a dream team of Hillary donors lawyers into the alleged Trump Campaign-Russia collusion conspiracy theory, all Mueller has on Manafort is that he avoided tax 5-10 years ago? By the way, this was from when Manafort was working with the Podesta bros, not with Trump. I am pretty certain some of these indictments are actually connected to the Podesta Group.
The White House press secretary told the press on Monday that the POTUS has no intention of firing Mueller.
