Manchester Arena Terrorist Identified as Salman Abedi, 23, Son of Libyan Refugees

manchester arena terrorist attack

The Manchester Arena terrorist who blew himself up killing at least 22 people and maiming dozens(including an 8 year old girl) was identified as Salman Abedi, the 23 year old son of Libyan refugees.

Salman Abedi was born in Manchester (home grown terrorism, radicalization at 2nd generation in the UK) in 1994 and his parents were Libyan refugees escaping the Qaddafi regime.

As usual, the terrorist was known to British intelligence services prior to the attack, but he was given a pass. ISIS/The Islamic State claimed responsibility for the terrorist attack via a generic statement posted online. British officials announced that an unidentified male was arrested in connection with the Manchester Arena terrorist attack on Tuesday, somewhere in a southern Manchester suburb.

Manchester residents were advised to avoid entering Manchester city center as police and anti-terrorist special forces raids are currently underway at various addresses around the city.

British Prime Minister Theresa May and the Police announced that they are working to determine if the terrorist acted alone or he was part of a wider group, but this is too little too late.

Whether Salman Abedi was connected with ISIS or he acted alone following his backward ideology, it really makes no difference to the victims. Manchester police confirmed the arrest (linked to the terrorist attack) of another 23 year old male on Tuesday. The suspect has not been identified, but he was taken into custody and he’s currently under interrogation.

Let’s remember how in the case of the Boston Marathon bombers in the US, the Federal Government via its intel agencies (FBI et al) had been notified by Russian authorities that the 2 Chechen immigrants (the Tsarnaev brothers) who did it were high risk, yet nothing was done. The government created this situation (refugee crisis/unvetted immigration) and it’s incapable or unwilling to protect its own citizens, that’s the truth unfortunately.
