After President Donald Trump hinted yesterday at destroying Kim Jong-un’s totalitarian regime, North Korean government staged a huge rally, where thousands were seen raising their fists as a show of strength. Footage surfaced on the internet showing a mass rally taking place in Pyongyang’s Kim Il-sung Square, where myriads of North Koreans were carrying placards boasting various propaganda slogans.
As you can see from the pictures, tens of thousands of North Koreans gathered in Kim Il-sung Square, in a desperate attempt on Kim Jong-un behalf to prove the world he has his people behind for better or for worse. The thing is, all these personality-cult styled “festivities” are perfectly organized by the repressive forces, i.e. they’re not spontaneous and they don’t mean anything after all. Also, that modus operandi holds true in all totalitarian regimes, not only in North Korea. Basically, people are forced to attend these events and in this way to publicly plead their allegiance to the regime, else they are faced with life in a labor camp or straight up execution.
Just to refresh your memory, North Korea is famous for executing its people for not crying too hard at public events. They’re even executing generals on made-up charges. Pyongyang’s drones can be seen carrying signs which read “Strike the United States with nuclear thunderbolt!” or “Those who touch us will not escape death”, and even “A revenge attack of annihilation”.
North Korea’s dear leader Kim Jong Un blasted the UN economic sanctions on DPRK and demanded justice over President Trump’s efforts to isolate and stifle his crackpot criminal regime via a ban on the country’s exports. As North Korea keeps raising the tensions in the region via ICBM tests and pushing forward with its nuclear program, South Korea’s President Moon asked his generals to speed up preparations in order to defend the country against the rogue communist regime in the North.
