President Donald Trump continued his campaign rhetoric and the assault on fake news media outlets during his Saturday rally in Melbourne Florida, after First Lady Melania introduced him leading the crowd in The Lord’s Prayer.
Trump told the cheering crowd that he is there because he wants to be among the folks who elected him and to speak to them without the filter of fake news. Basically, President Trump doubled down on his feud with the mainstream media, which seems to be the issue of the year. Also, Donald Trump reiterated his campaign promises, defending his controversial immigration ban and slammed the court that struck it down.
This happening can be described as the quintessential Make America Great Again rally from 2016, an event focused at bringing jobs back in the US and national security, with an emphasis on slamming mainstream media harder than ever before.
At one point, Trump invited a supporter on the stage, a move loved by the crowd yet most probably hated by his Secret Service staff.
The President spoke about Thomas Jefferson and his troubles (including distrust) with the press, saying that US media is part of the corrupt system:
‘They have their own agenda and their agenda is not your agenda. In fact, Thomas Jefferson said, “nothing can be believed which is seen in a newspaper. Truth itself becomes suspicious by being put into that polluted vehicle,” that was June 14, my birthday, 1807.’
Some things never change, yes indeed. Trump announced the upcoming repeal of the Obamacare, with the GOP submitting a new health care plan in the next couple of weeks.
Our plan will be better healthcare at a much lower cost
boasted The Donald, also emphasizing his wish for the US jobs to remain in the country:
‘You want a government that keeps its promises. A great spirit of optimism is sweeping across the country,’
President Trump said he intends to build safe zones in Syria instead of bringing refugees into the country and said a few words about his 2 infamous executive orders, about the travel ban and the wall with Mexico. Here’s the video for your viewing pleasure:
