President Donald Trump has sent a letter more than one month ago, on March 16th, asking House Speaker Paul Ryan to include $1,4 billion for the famous border wall in the resolution that must be passed by the Congress in order to fund the US government for the 2017 fiscal year, as the current CR expires on April 28th.
The $1.4 billion required for jump-starting the construction of the US-Mexico border wall represents a tiny amount, 0,035% of Federal Spending respectively, yet the Democrats are opposing it tooth and nail, threatening with a government shutdown .
Interestingly enough, Donald Trump has said on Monday that he’s ready to wait until later this year (September respectively) for securing funding for his big beautiful wall, most probably in an attempt to avoid a Democrat-led government shutdown on Saturday, which also marks his 100th day into office.
The thing is, the spending bill needs some Democratic votes, as the Republicans only have 52 seats in the Senate whilst the respective bill requires 60 votes, not to mention that there may be some conservative Republicans opposing the bill.
However, the POTUS reassured his fan base that the wall on the US Mexico border will be built during his first term, despite rumors that he agreed to postpone wall funding from the fiscal year 2017 budget negotiations.
President Trump told reporters during a White House presser:
I don’t know what people are talking. I watch these shows, and the pundits in the morning. They don’t know what they’re talking about. The wall gets built, 100 percent.
The wall’s going to get built, folks. In case anybody has any questions, the wall is going to get built,” Trump replied. He added that construction for the wall would start “soon.”
We’re already preparing. We’re doing plans, we’re doing specifications, we’re doing a lot of work on the wall, and the wall is going to get built,
What should Trump do with these guys in Congress? Start a Go Fund Me page? And now some liberal judge just blocked Trump’s attempt to cut off funding to sanctuary cities.
The law is preventing the president from enforcing the law! The left coast of this country has gone completely off the deep end. Liberal judges love to use the constitution when convenient to defend their evisceration of the same constitution. The laws of this country are not to protect everyone who is not a citizen, quite the opposite.
