There’s word in DC about an imminent showdown between special counsel Robert Mueller and President Donald Trump, with mainstream media sources claiming it will happen in the near future. On Wednesday, the Donald poured some kerosene on the fire, telling reporters during an impromptu presser of sorts that he looks forward to the interview, that there’s no collusion to speak of and, most importantly, that he’s ready to testify under oath, unlike Hillary (the FBI thing).
President Trump has said he expects to talk to “team Mueller” in 2 to 3 weeks from now, but emphasized the specifics of the “interview of the year” are to be set up by his lawyers. This is the first time the POTUS has officially stated he’s ready to talk to Mueller about the Russia collusion investigation and his firing of former FBI director James Comey.
Popular wisdom suggest that, considering the fact that collusion is not a crime, Mueller will most probably attempt to catch the POTUS making a “false” statement while under oath, and you can bet your last dollar that dirty cop Mueller will use every trick in the book to achieve just that.
Associated Press reported:
“I’m looking forward to it, actually,” Trump said when asked by reporters at the White House. As for timing, he said, “I guess they’re talking about two or three weeks, but I’d love to do it.”
He said, as he has repeatedly, that “there’s no collusion whatsoever” with the Russians, and he added, “There’s no obstruction whatsoever.”
A number of Trump aficionados (and/or friends), including Roger Stone and Judge Napolitano warned the president against an interview with team Mueller. Here’s Judge Napolitano on Fox News:
He [Judge Napolitano] explained that Mueller would present Trump’s interview to the grand jury and have them compare it with other evidence that has already been uncovered in the probe.
“Never, never, never — I can’t say never enough — let your client sit down with the prosecutors who are trying to develop a case against him,” Napolitano said. “Never expect them to be fair, never expect them to tell everything that they know. You will never know, and your client — the president — will never know everything that they know about him. It’s a recipe for disaster.”
It’s now almost indisputable that the entire Russia collusion narrative is based on the fake Steele/Fusion GPS dossier, with the FBI knowing the oppo-research file to be unverified and phony, yet still using it to get a FISA warrant to spy on Trump’s campaign. And Mueller knows it too, yet he continues with his witch hunt, trying to “get” the POTUS on a technicality.
I appreciate the president’s confidence and routine desire to be straightforward and open for Americans. Mueller, however, is playing a game, a game he is losing and desperately wants to win by any and all means necessary. However, if you ask me, if anything, Trump set the trap. This is all working out exactly as he planned. He’s giving the appearance of totally cooperating. It’s all a trap for the DEMs and the Deep State. Watch and see. Trump met with Mueller the day before he was appointed Special Counsel. Does anyone really think they were just chatting and making small talk? .There is a grand scheme in play here.
