Rand Paul Feels Optimistic About Repealing Obamacare After Golfing with Trump

Rep. Senator Rand Paul talked health policy with President Trump while hitting the links in Virginia on Sunday.

Rand Paul was an outspoken critic of both Obamacare and Ryancare/ObamacareLite, but in the aftermath of the outing on President Trump’s National Golf Club, he declared that he had a great day with the POTUS.

Despite his strong stance against the House GOP legislation, which according to the MSM made for President Trump’s first major defeat (read this article), Rand Paul struck a very positive tone after the golf excursion. The Kentucky senator said:

“We had a great day with the president. Played some golf, and we talked and we talked about a little bit of health care. I continue to be very optimistic that we are getting closer and closer to an agreement on replacing Obamacare,”

President Trump tweeted on Sunday:

About the health bill’s recent defeat, President Trump was quoted as saying by the FT on Sunday:

“I don’t like to lose. But that wasn’t a definitive day. They are negotiating as we speak.”

Everything in life is a negotiation and Donald Trump wrote a best seller called The Art of the Deal back in the day, so watch out!

The Donald said about Ryan’s bill that it was pulled because, let me quote the man himself:

“I didn’t want to take a vote. It was my idea; one way or the other, I promised the people great health care. We are going to have great health care in this country;if we don’t get what we want, we will make a deal with the Democrats and we will have in my opinion not as good a form of health care, but we are going to have a very good form of health care and it will be a bipartisan form of health care.”

Truth be told, Sunday’s happening is not surprising at all.  It’s very plausible to infer from previous experiences that President Trump knows exactly what he’s doing. Trump feigned support for Ryan’s bill because had he not, the RINOs would have spun that as “Trump is against the GOP as well”.

The President gave Ryancare his support and let it die on its own. Rand Paul has a much better plan and if he helps the repeal and replace process, we’ll actually come up with something good at last, maybe before Easter.
