‘SHOCKING’: The Classified House Intel Memo That Is Rocking Washington

The Steele dossier was used in part as evidence for a warrant to surveil members of the Trump campaign

All hell is breaking loose in DC after Republican lawmakers managed to put their hands (and eyes) on a classified House Intelligence Committee memo on Thursday, which has been since described as nothing short of shocking and explosive. According to National security journalist and Fox News contributor Sara Carter, the bombshell memo depicts, let me quote, “extensive Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act abuse” and also contains damning intel about the FBI, the Department of Justice, together with the discredited “Pissgate”-Russia-Trump so-called dossier.

The Fox News contributor writes on her personal blog that according to unnamed sources, “they would not be surprised if it leads to the end of Robert Mueller’s Special Counsel investigation into President Trump and his associates” and also that a member of the Congress (also anonymous) claimed the intel in the classified memo will be released by the end of January.

As per a Fox News confidential source,  “the memo details the Intelligence Committee’s oversight work for the FBI and Justice, including the controversy over unmasking and FISA surveillance.”

Here’s Texas Rep. Louie Gohmer on Twitter:

And here’s Rep. Ron DeSantis:

And here are other reactions with regard to the contents of the classified memo:

Pennsylvania Rep. Scott Perry told Fox News, “You think about, ‘is this happening in America or is this the KGB?’ That’s how alarming it is” while Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz said, “I believe the consequence of its release will be major changes in people currently working at the FBI and the Department of Justice.”

Here’s Matt Gaetz statement on Thursday calling for the classified information in the memo to be revealed to the general public:

The House must immediately make public the memo prepared by the Intelligence Committee regarding the FBI and the Department of Justice. The facts contained in this memo are jaw-dropping and demand full transparency. There is no higher priority than the release of this information to preserve our democracy.

And here’s Bongino, a Former Secret Service agent:

Rep. Schiff characterized the memo as misleading and inaccurate. The committee had voted Thursday along party lines “to grant House Members access to a profoundly misleading set of talking points drafted by Republican staff attacking the FBI and its handling of the investigation.”

“Rife with factual inaccuracies and referencing highly classified materials that most of Republican Intelligence Committee members were forced to acknowledge they had never read, this is meant only to give Republican House members a distorted view of the FBI. This may help carry White House water, but it is a deep disservice to our law enforcement professionals.”
