President Trump’s speech at CPAC can be condensed simply into “let’s put an end to globalism”, “basically all I’ve done is to keep my campaign promises” end quote, and an attack against the “dishonest people” in mainstream media (the fake news issue).
The Donald solemnly vowed in front of an energetic audience to fulfill all his campaign pledges as he delivered a strong and inspirational message for his conservative voters.
Donald Trump reiterated his famous America First message, a message that puts US citizens first during his campaign style speech at the CPAC (Conservative Political Action Conference) which took place outside Washington.
As he took the stage, President Trump said:
“Sit down, everybody. You know the dishonest media, they’ll say, ‘He didn’t get a standing ovation.’
They are the worst. You know my first major speech was at CPAC, probably five or six years ago. My first political speech. I wanted to come last year but I thought at that time I was too controversial.”
The media didn’t think we would win. The pundits didn’t think we would win. The consultants that suck up all that money, oh they suck it up there so good, but the consultants didn’t think we would win. But they all underestimated the power of the people — you. And the people proved them totally wrong.
The President continued to slam MSM outlets, calling them phony and fake and repeating what he said about fake news a few days ago, i.e. they’re (fake news media) the enemy of the American people, as they’re very dishonest and they make up news and sources when in reality there are none.
Donald Trump said that he’s not against the media per se, just against fake news stories. He suggested that the press shouldn’t be allowed to make use of anonymous sources, i.e. to publish “leaks” only if they use somebody’s name. The Donald specifically mentioned Clinton News Network (CNN) as being the biggest perpetrator of fake news.
President Trump said that networks like CBS, CNN or ABC constantly use fake polls for promoting their own agenda, for creating a fake narrative, and/or to discourage voters from voting.
The crucial moment during the speech was when Donald Trump said that there’s no globalism, no global currency, just America and its citizens:
We will not answer to donors or lobbyists or special interests, but we will serve the citizens of the United States of America, believe me. Global cooperation, dealing with other countries, getting along with other countries is good. It’s very important, but there is no such thing as a global anthem, a global currency, or a global flag. This is the United States of America that I’m representing. I’m not representing the globe. I’m representing your country.
