Just as we announced our readers several days ago (for further clarification read this: Steve Bannon Out at Breitbart?),Trump’s former adviser and White House chief strategist stepped down from his position as Executive Chairman at Breitbart News Network. Bannon served as exec-chair since 2012 and now he will work together with Breitbart’s staff on an orderly and smooth transition.
Following the announcement, Steven K. Bannon was quoted as saying:
“I’m proud of what the Breitbart team has accomplished in so short a period of time in building out a world-class news platform.”
And here’s Breitbart CEO Larry Solov:
“Steve is a valued part of our legacy, and we will always be grateful for his contributions, and what he has helped us to accomplish.”
This huge shake-up at the top of Breitbart, one of the world’s most popular conservative and pro-Trump websites was predictable after Bannon came under fire following the POTUS’ attack on Friday for the former’s disparaging comments made in author Michael Wolff ‘snew fiction book. The day the news about Bannon spilling his guts to Michael Wolff came out to light, President Trump released an unheard-of official statement which declared that after he got fired, Bannon “not only lost his job, he lost his mind.”
The Donald even gave Bannon a new nickname, “sloppy Steve” respectively, accusing him of leaking intel like a sieve during his tenure in the White House. It’s obvious that Bannon’s attacks on the First Family crossed a line and his apologies were not accepted. It is not yet known who’ll replace Bannon at Breitbart.
Bannon is a very rich man. He’s also a veteran and a brilliant businessman. His contribution to the conservative cause of liberty will never be forgotten. Unfortunately, neither will some of his mistakes.
