Donald Trump continues his struggle with the US political establishment and intelligence community over the claims of Russian interference in the election process.
Trump has consistently denied the allegations that Russian involvement in US Presidential election helped him secure victory against his Democratic rival Hillary Clinton. The President-elect attended a briefing from intelligence officials who conducted an investigation at the request of President Barack Obama.
Trump, however, Tweeted that the focus of the subject was unfair and politically motivated. The continuing battle over the supposed Russian hacking of US election, actively propagated by mainstream media, could serve to question the legitimacy of Trump’s victory over Hillary Clinton.
During campaign, Clinton and the Democratic party, as well as parts of the US political and media establishment, have accused Russia of meddling in the election. Clinton has linked Trump with Russian President, Vladimir Putin, claiming he is his favorite in the election, and even went so far as to imply he would be Putin’s puppet in the White House.
Recently, US Intelligence chief, James Clapper, told Congress he will release more evidence on Russian interference in US election and defended the opinion of intelligence analysts against Trump’s remarks that questioned the validity of their conclusions.
While various US intelligence services have linked Russia with the hacking of US election, there has been no conclusive evidence that Russia indeed interfered in US election.
Trump linked the issue of Russian hacking with domestic politics.
China, relatively recently, hacked 20m government names. How come nobody even talks about that? This is a political witch hunt.
He said, referring to the breach of computers at the Office of Personnel Management.
They got beaten very badly in the election. I won more counties in the election than Ronald Reagan.
They are very embarrassed about it. To some extent, it’s a witch hunt. They just focus on this.

Trump went on and stated that the DNC never requested an examination of its hacked computer servers.
The Democratic National Committee would not allow the FBI to study or see its computer info after it was supposedly hacked by Russia. So how and why are they so sure about hacking if they never even requested an examination of the computer servers? What is going on?
The Russian hacking saga will undoubtedly continue and extend into the first months of Trump’s presidency and beyond, while his defiant stance on the issue of Russian hacking may cause him troubles with the powerful US intelligence apparatus.
