In a “wag the dog” and eerie type of move, President Trump has ordered the bombing of Syrian airfields on Thursday. one hundred years to the day since the United States’ official entrance into WW1 (April 6, 1917). Let’s hope that history doesn’t repeat itself.
The President needs Congressional authorization for military action as required by the Constitution.

President Trump punished Assad’s regime for the alleged chemical attack that killed over 100 people by launching dozens of missiles into Syria on Thursday night at a Syrian airfield, according to military officials.
59 Tomahawk long-range missiles were launched by 2 United States warships in the Mediterranean Sea. The only target of the high-tech attack from US forces was an airfield in western Syria, the Ash Sha’irat in Homs.
This is the place from which the Syrian regime is believed to have launched the banned chemical weapons attack.
The mainstream media is already bursting with joy that “Trump goes to war”, but truth be told, what the POTUS did is not a declaration of war per se, but putting the Assad regime on notice ( the Syrian government is reporting zero casualties, also Russian troops at the base were warned before the strikes apparently).
Another thing to contemplate about today’s strange decision is that if the US goes into Syria further, America will be probably entering World War 3 based on intel provided by terrorists and neocons. If America topples Assad, ISIS will benefit, just like in Libya.
Today makes for the first (official) US attack on the Syrian government and Donald Trump’s first militaristic decision since his inauguration. Well, that didn’t take long. As many MSM outlets point out, Trump’s hasty decision to bomb the Syrian regime with zero proof of wrongdoing from Assad’s military is very surprising, considering candidate Trump’s warnings against the United States getting involved into the Syrian conflict, which is now in its 7th year.
The strike targeted planes, hangars and fuel tanks at the Syrian airfield according to US officials. Also, high ranked White House officials claim that the strikes were “supported” by foreign countries, ranging from Arab states to Justin Trudeau’s Canada.
The US attack on Syria takes place while President Trump is meeting (after dinner) with his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping at his Florida estate, where they’ll definitely discuss about North Korea and trade issues.
Here’s the President’s statement about him authorizing the strike on Syria:
My fellow Americans, on Tuesday Syrian dictator Bashar al Assad launched a horrible chemical weapons attack on innocent civilians. using a deadly nerve agent, Assad choked out the lives of helpless men, women and children.
It was a slow and brutal death for so many, even beautiful babies were cruelly murdered in this very barbaric attack. No child of God should ever suffer such horror.
Tonight I ordered a targeted military strike on the airfield in Syria from where the chemical attack was launched. It is in this vital national security interest of the United States to prevent and deter the spread and use of deadly chemical weapons.
There can be no dispute that Syria used banned chemical weapons violated its obligations under the chemical weapons convention and ignored the urging of the UN Security Council.
Years of previous attempts at changing Assad’s behavior have all failed and failed very dramatically. As a result the refugee crisis continues to deepen and the region continues to destabilize threatening the United States and its allies.
Tonight I call on all civilized nations to join us in seeking to end the slaughter and bloodshed in Syria. And also to end terrorism of all kinds and all types.
We ask for God’s wisdom as we face the challenge of our very troubled world. We pray for the lives of the wounded and for the souls of those who have passed and we hope that as long as american stands for justice then peace and harmony will in the end prevail. Goodnight and God bless America and the entire world. Thank you.
