Turkey’s president Erdogan rejected the notion of ‘moderate Islam’ as being nothing more than weaponized ideology, i.e. a Western-made tool to weaken “true Muslims”. The idea of moderate Islam does not appear anywhere in the Koran, as it was invented by the kafir in the West to weaken an “ancient” religion, said Erdogan as a response to Saudi Arabia’s planned reforms; he also blasted European Union’s discrimination of Muslims, whatever that means:
Headscarves are gradually being banned in EU states with the public – personal space trick, attempting to bar Muslim women from entering social life. Attempts to incarcerate Muslim women in their homes is spreading like a virus,
See, if Muslim women don’t wear burqas, they are not allowed to leave their homes by their Muslim husbands. And this is perfectly normal in Europe in 2017 in Erdogan’s view.
As a reference to Erdogan’s rant, you must know that Mohammed bin Salman, who is the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia promised to restore moderate Islam in his kingdom. Saudi Arabia is currently following a Wahhabi/Salafist version of Islam, which is described by many scholars as being ultra-conservative. By the way, Saudi Arabia also follows strictly the Islamic Sharia Law, through which Wahhabism is administered to their subjects. Hence, this is the lens through which one should understand Erdogan’s speech at the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Women’s Advisory Council on Friday:
The term ‘moderate Islam’ is being lathered up again. The patent of moderate Islam belongs to the West. There is no moderate or immoderate Islam; Islam is one. The aim of using such terms is to weaken Islam.
Prince Mohammed bin Salman aims to transform the Wahhabi brand of Sunni Islam by 2030. Saudi Arabia currently bans concerts, gender mixing, cinemas, women driving etc. By the way, I agree with Erdogan 100%. There is no such thing as moderate Islam. Islam, which means submission to God is the perfect way of Life, and can not be added to nor subtracted from it.
