With the US aircraft carrier strike group heading towards the Korean Peninsula and Japan conducting military exercises with its American counterparts, China’s President Xi Jinping urged all parties to exercise restraint during a phone call on Monday with President Donald Trump.
The Donald sent a carrier group in the waters of the Korean Peninsula with the primary purpose of warning the Pyongyang regime whilst signaling America’s determination to defend its allies in the area, South Korea and Japan respectively.
The crazy fat kid Kim Jong-un, North Korea’s dear leader remains defiant though, with Pyongyang’s officials saying on Monday about the US deploying an aircraft carrier strike group as being, let me quote:
“an extremely dangerous act by those who plan a nuclear war to invade. The United States should not run amok and should consider carefully any catastrophic consequence from its foolish military provocative act. What’s only laid for aggressors is dead bodies,”
The American aircraft carrier strike group was joined by 2 Japanese destroyers during their military exercises in western Pacific and it seems like South Korea’s navy is eager and willing to join the party, as per a Monday statement.
Meanwhile, there are signs about North Korea preparing to perform another nuclear test and/or to launch more ballistic missiles, as the communist dictatorship is preparing for the Korean People’s Army’s 85th anniversary on Tuesday.
Similar anniversaries in the past ended up with missile launches and/or nuclear tests, but this time President Trump put Kim Jong-un on notice, vowing that the US will do everything to prevent the Pyongyang from achieving a nuke capable of striking the United States.
North Korea’s only ally, China respectively has repeatedly asked the Pyongyang regime to cancel its nuclear ambitions, as the situation can get out of control at any time, leading to war and a societal collapse in North Korea.
Nikki Haley, US’ ambassador at the UN was quoted as saying on Monday:
“We are not going to do anything unless he gives us reason to do something. If you see him attack a military base, if you see some sort of intercontinental ballistic missile, then obviously we’re going to do that. But right now, we’re saying ‘don’t test, don’t use nuclear missiles, don’t try and do any more actions’, and I think he’s understanding that. And China’s helping really put that pressure on him.”
China needs to be reminded that they allowed North Korea to get to the point they are now at. Having a nuclear reactor to make electrical power is one thing, but using it to make nuclear weapons is quite another!
After the first nuclear bomb test, China should have went in and shut it down right-then-and-there, but they didn’t. They allowed NK to get where they are today. So, China has responsibility in this NK problem as well.
If China would have restrained their prodigal son Kim, then these problems would not have existed in the first place. The North Korean regime is still there only because it is propped up by China.
But the Chinese have allowed Kim to extort and trouble S Korea and Japan only because they do not want a reunified capitalist Korea near Manchuria.
And they use DPRK as a buffer, as they do not want the possibility of a capitalist reunified Korea on Manchuria with possible US troops facing off Chinese troops at the Manchuria/Korean border area instead of its present line at the 38th.
