Hurricane Irma which has been downgraded a little bit as a cat. 4 storm is already battering Florida and according to the latest updates, Miami’s city center which is also its financial heart is currently being flooded, as streets are under siege by ocean waters.

Along with the flooding, cranes are starting to fail, at least one of them, located in downtown Miami, confirming previous warnings about several cranes in the city which may pose a serious threat to bystanders,as per reports via social media:

Miami New Times reports citing official figures that the city has currently over 20 tower construction cranes on its premises, which are built and designed to withstand winds of up to 145 miles per hour. However, even if the cranes’ arms were set loose to swivel with the winds, the boom of at least one crane has already failed and fallen and if Hurricane Irma gains more power as it hits Miami, more are expected to follow, as in crash/collapse.
