Cyber Criminals Use Tax Deadline To Scam You Out Of Money And Data

Recent data breaches have shown that our accounts have been exposed to cyber-attacks. Luckily, there is a simple method that enables you to check if your email has been compromised in a security breach.

Microsoft Regional Director and online security expert Troy Hunt has created Have I been pwned? – a free resource anyone can use to check whether their personal account data has been illegally accessed then released into the public domain.

All you need to do is enter your email address or username, and the site will check if your passwords have been stolen in one of previous security breaches.

The site uses a vast date base with over 560 million stolen email addresses and passwords by a person the site team has named ‘Eddie’. Most of the data have been collected from hacked LinkedIn, LastFM, Dropbox and Tumblr accounts.
